It is in the southwestern part of the presentday town of Shtip, on the hill Isar, between the Bregalnica and Otinja rivers, in length of 350 meters and height of 150 meters from the Bregalnica bed.

The medieval town of Shtip, like the other medieval towns, consisted of a fortified part - inner town and outer town. The highest parts of the Isar are surrounded by walls. At the micro location Chekichan Skala it has been discovered the presumed medieval tunnel, which has an impressive dimensions for a tunnel from that time.
